RE: Equity Distribution Update
Dear Brothers & Sisters:
The TWU Equity Distribution Committee, legal counsel and the Presidents Council met on July 16, 2013 at the ATD office in Hurst, Texas to review the draft Equity Distribution Plan. We discussed in detail the many comments and suggestions received from the TWU membership while visiting the various stations on the Equity Distribution Road Show.
Upon consideration of the input given at the road show meetings, as well as the comments received by mail and email, the Committee re-affirmed the outline of the draft Plan that was described in the draft Power Point presentation, with some minor adjustments. The Presidents Council approved the recommendation of the Equity Committee. The principal change is that Title II Cabin Cleaners/Utility Persons, whose classifications were eliminated during the eligibility period and had no ability to exercise their seniority to another position in the company, will be eligible to participate in the equity distribution.
The draft Plan Document is being edited by counsel and will be reviewed and validated by the Presidents Council; it will be published later this month. After the Plan is finalized and payroll information from American Airlines is processed, members will receive notification of their eligibility to participate in the distribution and describing the payroll information received from American. The notification will also provide information on how a member may validate the payroll information from American and the process to notify the Committee of information they believe to be incorrect. The notification will also provide an explanation of the Equity Distribution Plan appeal process and as to how members may appeal any eligibility issue.
The Committee and the Presidents Council appreciate all of the input and feedback received, all of which were given serious consideration.
