On November 6, the TWU American Airlines / US Airways Presidents Council convened for a meeting to coordinate and strategize for continued effectiveness in negotiations with airline management. The Council meeting was held at the International office in Washington, DC at the request of TWU International President Harry Lombardo.
All AA / US Airways TWU presidents were in attendance, as were members of the International Administrative Committee, the TWU Division Directors, TWU Vice Presidents and ATD Staff Representatives.
The discussion included a full review of upcoming negotiations strategy and a number of related action items, to be addressed jointly by the locals and the International. Updates and issues concerning the TWU-IAM alliance were also covered by the Council.
As has been the case throughout the bankruptcy and merger process, the International will continue to host periodic meetings of the Council to triage any concerns that may develop and pursue avenues for moving forward in strength and unity.
It continues to be of utmost importance to the International Administrative Committee to work in very close coordination with all AA/US Airways local presidents to ensure the best possible representation for every TWU member.
