The Dennis Stark Scholarship
This scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue a consecutive 4 year college education from an accredited college or university. 2 annual scholarships of $4,000.00 each will be awarded. Recipients of this scholarship will receive $1,000.00 per year for 4 consecutive years. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the accredited college or university accepting the scholarship recipient.
Applicant must be a legal dependent of a current, deceased or retired Local 513 member who is or was in good standing. Also eligible are dependents of a former member who was forced to stop working short of pension age due to disabling illness or injury and who was a Local 513 member in good standing when forced to stop work.
A disinterested party will draw the winners during the last day of March Membership Meetings. Winners will be notified by certified mail at the address on the application. One alternate will be chosen in the event one of the two award recipients does not attend an accredited college or university.
Application forms are available in February at Local 513 Union Hall or online.
